This striking wood-slice feature wall is part of the interior design for the Edna L. Holmes Residence Hall at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. The wall was created through a partnership between Green Hammer, Walsh Construction, Mahlum Architects, and Urban Timberworks. The design showcases a commitment to sustainability by reusing approximately 75% of the big-leaf maple and Douglas fir trees that were originally felled on-site during construction. These trees were transformed into functional and decorative elements, including tables, benches, and this unique focal wall.
