Skylar began working at Green Hammer as an intern in the summer of 2020 while completing her undergraduate degrees at Lewis & Clark college. She focused her efforts around helping Green Hammer quantify the percentage of women and minority-owned businesses we contract with, and implement new ways to connect and work with groups such as Oregon Tradeswomen. After earning degrees in both Economics and Environmental Studies, Skylar joined Green Hammer as our Operations Assistant. She is putting her academic studies into practice working on a wide range of projects, including tracking our progress toward sustainability and equity goals.
She was drawn to our mission as well as our supportive company culture, where her coworkers listen to her suggestions and offer constructive, helpful feedback. “I love the support I receive from everyone at Green Hammer," she says. We love Skylar's initiative, organization and determination—all of which have helped us think and act differently when it comes to business operations.
When she’s not working, Skylar loves to cook new foods and explore Portland. Growing up in Little Rock, Arkansas, the size and scale of Portland still brings her so much excitement, even after living in the city for more than four years.
